A WIN for The Preservation of Pregnancy: Yesterday, The U.S. House of Representatives Passed Two Bills that Support Women and Families Facing an Unplanned Pregnancy
Extraordinary News from the Office of Congresswoman Kay Granger!
Sometimes we wonder if our petitions and pleadings get heard - or whether they just occupy our time, elevating our hopes, only to be dashed.
Not this time.
Know that your voice made a difference in the CitizensGo petition to stop funding free abortions.
Over the past months, CitizenGO connected with Congresswoman Kay Granger, who is the Chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee in the US House of Representatives. In 2017, she was the Recipient of the Chamber Excalibur Award. You can see her humble nature here:
On previous petitions, you may have helped voice concern over federal monies supporting the liberal abortion agenda. We had posted this one as a protest against child surgical mutilation.
Our voices were taken to Congresswoman Granger by CitizenGo, who was slated to meet Congresswoman Granger while attending the March for Life in DC to deliver two petitions, discussed below. The March for Life movement is among the strongest of antiabortion advocates.

CitizenGo advises us on what happened upon arrival to Congresswoman Granger’s office:
However, upon our arrival at her office yesterday, we were informed that she was engaged in emergency meetings, including those for the controversial funding of pregnancy care centers.
Even amidst these urgent discussions, Congresswoman Granger's office generously provided CitizenGO with gallery seating passes to witness the hotly contested pro-life bills being fought on the House floor. It was an opportunity that allowed us to observe firsthand the concerted efforts of those on the left to provide funds to abortion clinics while denying funding to pregnancy care centers.
The House of Representatives endured a tremendous battle of words, with voices from the left shouting "Vote NO!" in an attempt to derail the passing of these crucial pro-life bills. However, in triumph for the pro-life cause, the U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed both bills that support women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy:
The Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act ensures that pregnancy centers cannot be discriminated against from receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding.
The Pregnant Students’ Rights Act ensures colleges connect pregnant students with information about available resources to support their higher education journey while pregnant and parenting.
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to each of you who tirelessly support CitizenGO's efforts to promote a culture of life among our elected officials by advocating for the rights of the unborn. Thanks to your unwavering dedication and commitment, we have achieved this incredible victory for the pro-life movement and support for the unborn.
Let us celebrate this momentous occasion together, knowing that our collective efforts are making a profound difference in the fight to protect innocent lives. We will stay engaged and work diligently to advance our shared values.
Thank you once again for your invaluable support. Together, we are making a lasting impact.

Pro-Life America Makes a Statement
Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed two bills that support women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy:
1. The Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act ensures that pregnancy centers cannot be discriminated against from receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding.
2. The Pregnant Students’ Rights Act ensures colleges connect pregnant students with information about available resources to support their higher education journey while pregnant and parenting.
The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America celebrated in a statement:
“We thank all of the pro-life members in the House who stood up to the pro-abortion Biden administration, to fight on behalf of pregnancy centers nationwide and women on college campuses who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America.
“The nearly 3,000 pregnancy centers nationwide stand ready to provide women with the critical material, educational and medical help they need to provide for themselves and their families. Women on college campuses deserve real choices, and not to feel burdened with choosing between continuing their education or raising their child. Life-affirming organizations like pregnancy centers stand in the gap to help those expecting moms have real options.
“Americans across the political spectrum overwhelmingly support the critical work of pregnancy centers. It is not hard to understand why, when the data shows in 2022 alone, centers across the country provided over $350 million in services like pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting education programs, diapers, formula and more – all at no cost. Most women facing an unplanned pregnancy would appreciate empowering support to raise their children, not to be pushed into abortions they don’t even want. We are grateful to our allies in Congress who fought for this today.”
The latest polling from Marist/the Knights of Columbus shows overwhelming support once again for pregnancy resource centers, with high levels of support from Democrats and Independents as well as Republicans.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
