California Governor and Legislature Repeal AB 2098 COVID "Misinformation" Law, Physicians for Informed Consent Shares the Win for Freedom of Speech and Medical Freedom
The history of AB 2098, and the work that still needs to be done as Patients for Informed Consent files a motion that directly challenges the California Medical Board's authority to censor doctors.
AB 2098 is the “misinformation” and “disinformation” bill that was meant to control the conversation that doctors had with patients in the office.
It was meant to put the government in the room with you and I, listening in and deciding that if I did not say the right thing for you, the California Medical Board would take away my license to practice medicine.
It was September 30, 2022, the last day for Gov. Newsom to make one of three choices: sign, veto, or do nothing. Inaction would have left it to be automatically passed by the legislature.
