Dedicated to his patients, Dr. Yoho says,

For the patients whose trust we betrayed. We have tortured them with useless or harmful surgeries, therapies, and medications. I tell the story with the hope we can do better.

At first, Dr. Yoho was busy doing face lifts, liposuction, and was “completely asleep”. Like Rip Van Winkle, he looked around him and started to read whistleblower books. Then he started to learn that things were not what he thought they were.

For example, here we are in the US as “leaders” in health care yet we are high in infant mortality, and it made no sense to Dr. Yoho. He says,

“This book took three years to write, and it was a learning experience.”
