For Those Who Really Believe
When I came to realize that Dr. Malone was the target of some who have made various accusations, it was a gradual dawning. Then the lid was lifted and out came an outpouring of something very negative: fingers pointing shame upon him. Other fingers joined in and encouraged judgement, with crowds incited with negativity.
Who needs that?
This prompts me, as an ordained minister, to think in Biblical ways but also to spread God’s word and remind the world of the real source behind it all: a spiritual warfare.
Our problem is NOT one another.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Every single one us us, without exception, has had others tell stories, exaggerations, and outright lies about us. Some were harmless, others tarnished our reputation, and still others were met with opposing forces from higher sources that put the offender in their place.
Every single thing that happens to us does so with a purpose, whether to challenge our faith, grow it, or realize it.
If we hold, as Christians, that the enemy has one purpose, then we agree that we should uphold the opposite of all of his goals:
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
The Metamorphosis of A Distraction
I haven’t met anyone who, because of God’s greatness, spent twelve years in bed with a traumatic brain injury then regained her medical practice. It was like being left for dead, then rising from it to walk amongst those who thought I was dead; no, it was exactly like that.
So I know all about distractions that bring you down, and how to use them to change the negative into the positive.
If you think about it long enough, you will realize that when we are all on the same team, anything else that tries to separate us is… nothing but… a distraction.
A distraction moves us in its direction, captures our attention and thoughts, then undergoes metamorphosis to spoken words of negativity. And once the spoken word comes out of our mouths, another metamorphosis occurs: creation. Just like God’s Words created light that cast out the darkness, so too can they reap destruction. So stop yourself from the metamorphosis, break the natural chain, and rise above it.
What is it a distraction from?
Evil is always a distraction from good. The evil one is always a distraction from God.
Rising Above A Distraction
When something bad happens, wait.
Wait, pray, and be patient.
How big is your God?
Have faith in God.
Why? Before reading on, why do you think a distraction should give you pause? Look away from the screen and think about it…
A distraction should give you pause because… by definition, a distraction is meant to take your eyes off of the real things.
And what are the “real things”?
The real things are always… of God.
We are On the Same Team
What happens when you pull back and realize the truths of not being swayed by carnal distractions? What is the absolute next thing you unhesitatingly do, when your focus is back on the eyes of Jesus and not on the storm?
Once you commit to redirect your thoughts away from the distraction and reject its power over your life, only then can you see there is greatness in looking away and refusing to give life to the storm.
Look toward the light.
Look toward love.
In this way, you won’t let anyone or anything take your eyes off Christ, and the all-encompassing joy and everlasting peace we have in His Promises, His Presence, for all eternity.
No one can take away the love of God. Not even death or life can take away His love.
Only you hold the key.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
If you really believe that nothing on earth can separate you from the love of God and eternity with Him, then nothing else should really matter, because nothing else matters.
Pray for Our Leaders
Once you reach your place of peace in light of eternity, your maturity naturally goes to the greater good: prayer for our leaders, all of them on every side of the aisle.
So together, we pray this prayer:
Father God, we pray for our leaders.
We pray a special prayer for Dr. Malone and as you to bless him and protect his every step with your heavenly angels. We also pray for those who seem against him, so that understanding, light, an love abound.
We pray for all the front line doctors and nurses, office staff and their families. Bless and guide them through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Protect their relationships, finances, and their personal health.
Bless all the people going about their daily lives without realizing the evil abounding amongst us. Let them see the light in your time, and allow us to lead them toward it and not away from it.
We pray all these things in the Holy name of Jesus Christ.
