A Letter Asking You to Schedule An Office Visit for Your Teen, from Your Neighborly Doctor's Office Telling You They are "Taking Every Precaution to Keep You Both Safe"
... Even though they are no longer a patient in the office...
The computer “sees” that your teen hasn’t made an appointment in a year.
They send you a letter requesting you make an annual “well-care” appointment. Here is a sample provided to me after posting a recent article on random medical insurance letters and phone calls wanting to come to your home for an exam, seen HERE.
Somehow, the medical practice seems incapable of changing the status of the patient to show that they are no longer a patient. Instead, they regularly contact the parent(s) to try to bring in their healthy teen.
Note the small seed of fear implanted at the bottom of the letter, designed to trigger an ACTION by the parent, i.e., to schedule the teen’s checkup “today”:
“… to keep you both safe.”
