I'd guess it's the same Shanahan who is said to have an Autistic child and who would naturally identify with the family, having said she experienced poverty as a child.

It's good to see such a generous gift, and I hope it inspires many. I think everyone believes it is from her... what a kind heart!

And done without fanfare.

This is incredibly cruel action for the state to take against this family. In stead of supporting their needs the state takes action that further traumatizes these families. We see the short sided relief that Red Cross provides and doesn’t look to help with long term solutions for areas that have been hard hit. One reason I don’t support them. I pray that mom and son are reunited soon. I know how traumatic it is for an autistic child to be separated from his mom. I am one of those moms. I am praying that God will intervene and temporary housing is found for this family while their house is being fixed and the courts will act swiftly to reunite mother and son.

Amen. 💔🙏🏻

Amen! I don't think any of us support the Red Cross... we know too much. And I am very sorry you can relate to this so much. Very sad, indeed, to know this type of evil.

I wish they had also asked for money for home repairs, and a temporary shelter - none of these families want to leave the area or the government can claim the land as abandoned:(. I hope she gets a lot of extra money. I also think they underestimated the legal costs.

I hope that getting the word out to others as I will also share Give Send Go link. In hopes there will also be funds to repair damages so they can stay in their home. 💔🙏🏻✝️

I keep hearing that this is happening to struggling families in WNC. If this is how our government handles natural disasters then we need to keep them away. From what I see neighbor helping neighbor and church communities have been the best equipped to help. In this tragedy the need is so overwhelming for everyone.

I thought the first response of a CPS is to support and find solutions to keep the family unit intact! This seems criminal to me! Government overreach at its worst!

I pray Benji is being protected by his angels and we can help bring him home with these donations!

May God be the glory in their lives.

May God provide strength and goodness to this family and all that are have been abused by this current administration!
