I wish I had more images and I look forward to getting my uncle's story one day. I remember that the Captain of the B-52 had his legs amputated in front of my uncle. So I'm certain that he and the other POWs were severely tortured in ways that we cannot imagine. God bless our Veterans!
When I graduated medical school and internship, I did ER at Ft Irwin, the National Training Center for the US Army. That's when I realized that 97% of the military is kids that look like they're still in high school.
Hat's off to your Dad!
I just heard that one of our military aircraft went down in the Eastern Mediterranean sea, and I pray they rescue our boys. 🙏
All my pleasure, thank you. I forgot to mention that when I was President of the Pre-Med Club at the Sepiulveda VA Medical Center, we used to go Christmas caroling on the wards. The Veterans would be crying.
This year, there's no VA nearby, so we are going to go caroling at a local nursing home. It's a home that looks very dreary from the outside, therefore bound to look even more dreary on the inside. But we have to do it.
My brave and youngest son served two tours in the Airforce over the last 6 years. We were not permitted to know where he was for one tour but I was comforted every day and reassured that he would be ok by our Lord God through many prayers. His specialty was Engineering and he was there to travel the region to have runways repaired for planes to land safely. His son was 6 and really felt his father's absence. It was a sacrifice his family paid for and I respect them all. Proud of this man and each and every veteran. Thank Ed for me please. 😘
Goodness, a secret clearance position is not very common, so your son must have special talents. We are all grateful for his service, and we cannot forget that many in the service add to the personal sacrifice by also leaving not just their home and country, but their wives and young children. God bless all the families, and thank you for sharing his story, because it reminds us of so many different aspects of the non-civilian world. We have much gratitude.
Very thoughtful. 🙏🇺🇸❤️

Oh my that is heart breaking. The abuse and torture POWs go through is unimaginable without having nightmares.
I know, that's why I hesitate to ask him... 😔
Amen to that, sister. My dad was a WWII Navy vet in the Pacific Theater of the war. He joined in 1943 at the ripe old age of 16!
