That's exactly what the Invisible Disabilities Association is for. I hope you see something on the website that is helpful, and I hope you learn more by viewing the Awards Banquet in October. I will be writing articles on it the week of October 20-26.
My concerns about an ID are that it makes you an unnecessary target AND it is easy to counterfeit the same way the handicapped cards for cars are.
I would also worry that an over zealous politician may then require a photograph of the person attached to the ID...that law was proposed in North Carolina - unsure of the outcome.
Some people defiinitely have this same concern, so they don't participate in the program. I validate this concern and hope that no one ever uses it to identify the disabled for nefarious purposes. INDEED!
Others travel a lot and have trouble getting a wheelchair or taxi, or have gotten into bad fights with people over a disabled parking spot. You can also purchase a lanyard and wear it when needed, as opposed to a permanent change on your driver's license. There's something for everybody.
Dear Dr. Margaret-- What an incredible survivor you are! I am honored to know you. I have had Meniere's disease for 40 plus years. It is now much less severe than it used to be. at it's worse I would be unable to walk, read, or think during a bout, which could last a few weeks. But it is nothing compared to your ordeal. With great admiration and lots of love, Ginger
I'm mildly autistic and have hearing problems.
They can't be seen

No lanyard - or anything that can be use to strangle! Clip on cards if you must

Margaret, you're amazing. Thank you for all that you share with us. When we look up " heroine " in the dictionary, there should be a photo of you!
I am SO proud of you dear Margaret! May God continue to bless you every moment. I love you!!
I have severe hearing impairment, and even with hearing aids, life is difficult. Especially in business situations, I miss so much.
You are truly an inspiring individual. Thank you for your perseverance and warrior attitude.
