I’ve broken C-3 through C-7, had a head on collision, an artery in my heart dissected, had a bullet pass through my shirt between my left arm and my chest, and had 5 strokes. I’m still walking around. It hasn’t been my time, but I know that some day it will be. Doesn’t matter if I’m ready, or not. I don’t set the schedule.
Thank you Doctor! I was in Iraq, standing next to a truck when the bullet went through my shirt. It hit the truck and landed near my feet. I picked it up and sent it home in a box with the license plate off of an Iranian military truck that our choppers blew up after they fired rockets at us. I was on the detail that cleared the road and took it off of the truck.
My face got burned by gasoline when I was 8 years old and I couldn’t see for 10 days. It’ll probably sound crazy, but it was then that I discovered that if you concentrate, pain is something that can be overcome.
Nothing at all to be sorry for. It made me a stronger person. I honestly feel that it was the stimulus I needed to go through the things the lord had in store for me. It made me stronger, it made me more resilient to sometimes vicious teasing, and it taught me to stand for those that can’t or won’t stand for themselves. It also gave me time alone to become a voracious reader.
The path of my life was forever changed on that cold January afternoon in 1972. But it was changed for the better.
I just read over these comments. All of those incidents were at different times in my life. The broken neck occurred while I was in Army boot camp. I was given the opportunity to go home with a medical discharge, wait until I was healed before cycling into a different company to complete boot camp, or catch up the week I missed while I was in the hospital and continue with my platoon. I chose to continue with the men I started with. I wore a neck collar the rest of boot camp, and in to military police school, but I finished with my platoon.
I understand that it sounds crazy, but there was no way I could have faced my retired Marine father and my mom who spent 4 years in the Navy.
If its not your time to go you wont, no matter what. I know this.
And even if it's supposed to be your time, you can still beg God to let you come back (like I did), and he will let you;)!
So do I.
It changes one outlook permanently.
It sure does!
I wonder how all these freak events were caught on camera. What are the odds?
Right? Especially that torpedo!
Yes, LOL. Especially that torpedo. Ha ha....

WoW! God has used you, indeed! What near misses, 😅 🙌 especially on that gunshot! You know pain.
God bless you and keep you well!

Burns are the worst pain, and 8 years old is so young... I am sure sorry.
And look how God used you! Unbelievable you confiscated the bullet! 😮 🤩

That is so inspirational! You have the perspective that we all want to have. You have made lemonade out of lemons, and it is our joy to know you.

When it’s your time to go, gone. Impossible to fathom how any of these people are still breathing.
God is orchestrating traffic, falling buildings, falling objects, tree limbs. And on camera 🎥
Looked like Kittens and Cats with 9 lives.
