I have 1 friend with ALS and she had 2 traumatic brain injuries from being thrown from her horse.

Goes to show you that repeated head trauma can take a toll.

I am sorry she has ALS and I ask God to give her some relief! Poor thing!

I'm glad this was a good read for you:)

Thank you Margaret. The hospital bed scene was hard to look at, but maybe we need to see it more often. As rough a game as football is, I would think ALS would be more than 4 times more prevalent in football players than in the general population of men!

I'm glad you agree with showing him on a vent in bed at home. That's the real world. ❤️ 🤗

The filming at home was entirely appropriate. This is his current reality. It was nice to see his friends and teammates there to share his membership into the hall of fame. ALS is a terrible disease that strips victims of nearly everything. We lost a friend to it a number of years ago.

Oh, I am sorry for your friend, it's a difficult disease progression. I am glad that we can talk about it because of Steve McMichael!

Wow! Tough to see but it's reality. I'm not sure he was actually aware of anything, hard to tell. I hope so, so he can have a moment of joy. What a terrible disease. Glad first thing she said was Amen. God help comfort him amd his family

It is tough, and I don't know how much awareness he had. I was taught to talk to everyone as if they have all their faculties, even if ventilated in the ICU.

He looks very well taken care of, for sure. And how nice it was for everyone to make it to his bedside for this occasion! 👍
