One more in a long list of reasons to never use Telegram.

Signal is much better for confidentiality but Telegram is still good for news.

Nor use Goo Goo apps if you don't have to! I like Gab, Clouthub, and Substack, but I won't use an app to utilize them!

Thank you Margaret. For those keeping score at home, another victory for those opposed to freedom. You can't be 'sorta' for freedom any more than you can be 'sorta' pregnant! But, we're all human...'sorta'.

The problem is that there are so many bad guys out there now, child trafficking, etc.

WHO gets to decide who needs to have their personal information shared with the authorities? 🤷‍♀️

Exactly! The crooks investigating the crooks!

These 'bad guys' are all working with and for the 'authorities.'

It is a con job to talk about the 'bad guys' as an excuse to invade our privacy, because the worst bad guys in the world are running our nations, our security services, our militaries, and our intelligence services - they are the 'bad guys' - and there isn't anyone listening in on them. Period. And when they are found out it gets sealed for 50-100 years.

It's really about money and power, nothing to do with crime or they would arrest, convict and eliminate themselves...

I agree. Are we supposed to believe they din't have every name, email, phone number, etc.? I wouldn't be surprised if telegram is a dod program and the servers in their basement.

Did you mean to say "Telegram" instead of "Signal" in this sentence: "Therefore, Signal’s servers can read messages that are sent and received."

You saw that too. Has to mean Telegram, Signal doesn’t operate that way.

My ? Is who determines the definition of a bad actor?

Hoping there is a strong privacy rule or law that actually protects the innocent people.

People who are breaking the law, sex trafficking,

Gun smuggling, setting up terrorist attacks by all means ID them.

My suspicion is they want to spy on everyone

And that’s just not acceptable but most likely

Happening now as I write every word is read

Thanks for follow up

Some of these stories just get lost in the shuffle

Of new news 🗞️

In my opinion there is no quarter for the trafficking of children and adults for the sex slave trade. If they can actually and exclusively segregate the people conducting this business as well as the drug traffickers then I applaud the efforts. Yet, I think it is a VERY slippery slope indeed for governments to then pressure for the release of names/numbers of people like us, the resistance or truthers who are aka misinformation spreaders and the other derogatory names attached to us. As anything but sheeple, we are definitely in the crosshairs of our government.

“Therefore, Signal’s servers can read messages that are sent and received.” <— You mean Telegram here. Not Signal, yes?

Never trust a company started by a Young Global Leader.

"Law enforcement and security researchers have extensively documented illegal activity on Telegram, including recruitment and organizing among extremist groups."

I call bullshit on this. If were true , why haven’t they ever gotten a court order and served it.

Telegram stated their policy was if they were served a court order they'd hand over information. Their transparency report tells us they have never had such a request. Ever.

It's bullshit. They are documenting dissidents - which they are calling 'extremist groups.'

A billion people across the planet all neatly corralled into a digital box, and now the Young Global Leader that set up Telegram, with funding from the swamp, is invited to meet up for dinner with the French president, Macron, another Young Global Leader buddy, but oh he goes to jail, to make it look like they are not having high level talks about how they can play this so the suckers, I mean the public, will buy their bullshit con job.
