Just hours ago, Israel and Hamas have agreed in a formal deal to pause bilateral fighting for the release of 50 Israeli hostages being held in Gaza.
50 Israelis as opposed to 150 Palestinians released?
I have no idea why this would be so, given that both sides have many more hostages than that, counting those in prison. A quick search this morning reveals the deal is now 240 Israeli hostages held by Hamas, and more than that as Palestinian prisoners in Israel, via Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/what-do-we-know-about-israeli-hostages-gaza-2023-11-22/
This is the kind of story that will probably continue to evolve, and the numbers may change.
