Addendum April 19, 2024 ar 8:45 pm: Just wanted to give you a ‘head’s up’ that your insurance company may send you a letter or call you with what some consider to be quite the (home) invasion. I have had 3 reports on this, but I suspect that this is not an uncommon occurrence that everyone should be aware of today.
I considered the request a blatant data grab at the least and most likely a veiled attempt to categorize my medical history and assets to my detriment.
I have Medicare A and B plus a supplemental policy. I didn't know if the questions would apply to the supplement, but I went ahead and answered the questions. No contact from them.
I thought this was ridiculous and I felt that they would tell me this was wrong or that was wrong or unsafe and they would make me make changes or whatever. I just don't trust Aetna who to me is an arm of the Feds. The last thing I want are these people trapsing through my house, taking notes, and then what will happen next? No thank you! I told them I will never allow them into my house and stop calling me with these stupid things! Meanwhile they cancelled my Medicare in January and didn't tell me about that! I didn't find out until March! They call for stupid things but not important things!
I've been on Aetna Medicare for 4 years now. Aetna has a program to receive "Healthy Rewards". One of those rewards is to have a home health review. To receive the $50 gift card, you have to agree to have a 3rd party nurse (maybe a social worker, not sure) to come to the home. During Covid, they could do it remotely via Zoom or some other online video app. I did it the one time because it was remote and the questions I was asked were like the questionnaire from my PCP during routine yearly wellness exams.
I have not agreed to anyone coming to my home nor will I in the future.
If I recall, there was only one or two robo calls saying that I had this option to have a home health visit.
I'll add that I suspect they probably look to see if you have firearms in the house or maybe, in today's environment, if you have spare bedrooms to house illegals!
Last year I received numerous phone calls from someone claiming to have a benefit for Medicare beneficiaries in the form of an "Annual Wellness Visit" by an RN. When I asked what this was for, I was told that it was an extra set of eyes on my medical care to make sure that my needs were being met. I told them each time that I had no need for one more set of eyes on my care.
My insurance calls me every so often to do a wellness check in my home. I refuse them everytime. Makes no sense if you have a primary care doctor that you can see. Sometimes I think they want to give you the jab, so I refuse them.

I think I still have the mailer and will look for it.

I answered my 3 or 4 calls last year with why ate you calling me I'm not sick and I'm still a working nurse. So don't call me again.

Report them for harassment to your local attorney General in your state and and that they cut off your insurance without notification.
